RUNNING SHORT?

I went to the bank today to cash my check and withdraw some cash. It was not a huge amount of money, less then 5,000 dollars. When I handed the lady at the bank my withdraw she looked at the request and said softly. Wow! let's see what we can do we are running a "LITTLE SHORT".

In the current economic environment you can imagine the panic this comment caused within me. She went on and was able to get the money quickly so I'm not sure if she was referring to being short in her drawl or that the Bank was running short.

It makes me think about how many things we take for granted, like being able to get our money OUT of the bank.
